What makes a good trauma kit?

A trauma kit is built around controlling catastrophic bleeding. The core items are a haemorrhage control tourniquet, haemostatic gauze, an emergency trauma bandage, gloves and shears. Larger team kits add chest seals, more dressings, foil blankets and triage tools.

Personal, team or public access?

  • Personal kits (IFAK): one casualty, carried on the person. See our IFAK range.
  • Team trauma kits: several casualties, for event medical teams, ambulance crews and rescue teams.
  • Public access bleed control: wall-mounted kits placed beside an AED, so anyone can act.

Read what goes in a trauma kit and which tourniquet to buy before you choose. Only use equipment you have been trained to use.
